Cayenne (sometimes inappropriately labelled as ‘cayenne pepper’ or `red pepper’) is an extremely pungent ground spice prepared by blending the small pungent chillies grown in East Africa, Japan, India, Mexico, Louisiana and some other areas, but not from Cayenne (French Guiana). Red pepper is sometimes regarded as identical with cayenne, but is, nevertheless, milder, being prepared mainly from the larger-fruited, moderately pungent capsicums from Turkey and some of the southern states of the USA.

Compound quills, measuring 42 ins. long (just over 1 m), are sorted into grades according to the thickness of the hark. Three main qualities are exported: the ‘Tine’ or ‘Continental’ grades, the intermediate `Mexican’ grades, and the ‘Hamburg’ grades.

Perhaps the finest thing about the dahlia is its internationalism, for the varieties grown in this country originated all over the world. This is probably equally true of nearly every other dahlia growing country. This means of course that there are an enormous number of varieties available, but has also meant that the standards of quality have risen greatly over the years.

Everyone is familiar with the furry, red monster with large white eyes and an orange nose. They had at least once in their lives, danced and sang along with him. Elmo of Sesame Street! Who does not know him? Elmo had since 1985, and until now, been capturing the hearts of kids, as he sings, dances and tell stories with them! Kids want to have Elmo as their best buds!
